In many cases I see providers making a good job of social media, but far too many miss the most vital bit when it comes to social media.
Social media is NOT about likes, fans and followers.
Social media is a marketing tool .. simply that .. a marketing tool.
The function of social media is to convey a message .. no more, no less.
Some forms of social media are fantastically good research platforms. Some of them are excellent marketing platforms. But in its basic form social media is a communications tool and nothing more.
If you understand this simple fact social media can then make a real difference to your marketing and communications.
